DESTINATURE – Agency for the Development of Nature Tourism

DESTINATURE – Agency for the Development of Nature Tourism – is a private, non-profit organisation that promotes the sustainable development of nature tourism in protected areas and the integrated economic valorisation of natural and landscape heritage.

It acts as a regional, supramunicipal cooperation platform bringing together public and private stakeholders, with the capacity to use natural resources as a structuring element of sustainable development and a driver of economic and social growth.

Its experience coordinating the iNature collective efficiency strategy has enabled it to connect key dimensions relevant to nature, such as conservation, economy, research, and local communities. It seeks new ways to enhance the value of natural heritage, for example through the pioneering implementation of the Healing Forests concept in Portugal.
